# 🎵 Black Trigram (흑괘) — Audio Assets Specification

This document specifies the **exact audio asset requirements** for the Black Trigram AudioManager system. The assets must be in WebM format with Opus codec for optimal compatibility.

## Asset Audit

Run `npm run audit:assets` to verify all audio asset references in the codebase point to existing files. This ensures no broken asset links and helps maintain asset integrity.

## Missing Assets (TODO)

The following assets are currently using placeholder files and should be created:
- `/assets/audio/sfx/ui/victory_fanfare.mp3` (currently using combat_theme.mp3)
- `/assets/audio/sfx/ui/defeat.mp3` (currently using hit_heavy.mp3)
- `/assets/audio/music/victory_theme.mp3` (currently using cyberpunk_fusion.mp3)
- `/assets/audio/music/defeat_theme.mp3` (currently using underground_theme.mp3)

### Grappling System Audio Assets (New - TODO)

**Korean**: 잡기 시스템 오디오 (Grapple System Audio)

The following grappling audio assets need to be created for the GrappleSystem:

#### Combat/Grappling SFX (`public/assets/audio/sfx/combat/grappling/`)

1. **grapple_connect** - Grab success sound
   - Korean: 잡기 성공 (japgi seonggong)
   - Format: WebM + MP3
   - Duration: ~200-300ms
   - Description: Firm grip establishment, fabric rustle + impact
   - Variations: grapple_connect_1.webm, grapple_connect_2.webm, grapple_connect_3.webm, grapple_connect_4.webm
   - Placeholder: Use `attack_medium.webm` until created

2. **grapple_struggle** - Escape attempt sounds
   - Korean: 탈출 시도 (talchul sido)
   - Format: WebM + MP3
   - Duration: ~150-250ms
   - Description: Strain, resistance movement, breathing effort
   - Variations: grapple_struggle_1.webm, grapple_struggle_2.webm, grapple_struggle_3.webm, grapple_struggle_4.webm
   - Placeholder: Use `hit_medium.webm` until created

3. **grapple_escape** - Successful escape sound
   - Korean: 탈출 성공 (talchul seonggong)
   - Format: WebM + MP3
   - Duration: ~300-400ms
   - Description: Breaking free, release whoosh, relief exhale
   - Variations: grapple_escape_1.webm, grapple_escape_2.webm, grapple_escape_3.webm, grapple_escape_4.webm
   - Placeholder: Use `attack_light.webm` until created

4. **bone_crack** - Breaking technique sounds (joint locks, throws)
   - Korean: 뼈 부러짐 (ppyeo bureojim)
   - Format: WebM + MP3
   - Duration: ~100-200ms
   - Description: Sharp crack, bone/joint stress sound
   - Variations: bone_crack_1.webm, bone_crack_2.webm, bone_crack_3.webm, bone_crack_4.webm
   - Placeholder: Use `hit_critical.webm` until created
   - **Warning**: Use sparingly, high-impact sound

5. **counter_attack** - Counter-attack success from grapple
   - Korean: 반격 성공 (bangyeok seonggong)
   - Format: WebM + MP3
   - Duration: ~250-350ms
   - Description: Reversal whoosh, impact, position change
   - Variations: counter_attack_1.webm, counter_attack_2.webm, counter_attack_3.webm, counter_attack_4.webm
   - Placeholder: Use `attack_critical.webm` until created

6. **limb_exposure_warning** - Vulnerability window indicator
   - Korean: 사지 노출 경고 (saji nochul gyeonggo)
   - Format: WebM + MP3
   - Duration: ~100-150ms
   - Description: Subtle alert chime, opportunity cue
   - Variations: limb_exposure_warning_1.webm, limb_exposure_warning_2.webm
   - Placeholder: Use `energy_pulse.webm` until created
   - **Usage**: Plays when limb becomes exposed during grapple

#### Audio Integration Points

- **GRAPPLING state entry**: Play `grapple_connect`
- **Escape attempts**: Play `grapple_struggle` 
- **Successful escape**: Play `grapple_escape`
- **Joint lock/throw techniques**: Play `bone_crack`
- **Counter from grapple**: Play `counter_attack`
- **Limb exposure window opens**: Play `limb_exposure_warning`
